Vietnam Visa

The Vietnam Visa was a tricky one.

Like many other countries, visa on arrival to Vietnam facility is not being offered to Pakistani citizens. Vietnam embassy website in Pakistan did not have enough information on Visa as well as their consular section was last modified in 2010. Upon digging the search engines further, I found out that Gerry’s launched Visa DropBox service for Embassy of Vietnam, Pakistan in September 2014. There are two types of applications one can apply:

1. With entry approval letter

01 set of application includes

  • 01 prescribed form (N1) with recent colored photograph .
  • Text informing the Vietnam entry approval of
    • The Immigration Department (Public Security Ministry)
      or
    • The Bureau of Consular Affairs (Ministry of Foreign Affairs )
  • Passport ( validity must be at least longer than 1 month of granted visa)
  • 01 copy of passport.

2. Without entry approval letter

01 set of application includes

  • 01 prescribed form (N1) with recent colored photograph .
  • Passport ( validity must be at least longer than 1 month of granted visa)
  • 01 copy of passport.
  • Police character certificate

If you do not have entry approval letter, Gerry’s can do it for you and charge certain amount for that for different visa types. For example, for a one month validity single entry visa the Visa fee is Rs. 9450 and clearance services are Rs. 9250. Document attestation charges are Rs. 2100 and Gerry’s fee is Rs. 2000, which amounts to a total of Rs. 22,800 (~ US $230).

The Visa process normally takes around a week.

How I got my Vietnam Visa

The above process looks a bit complicated? Same was my thinking when I first saw it. I somehow found a friend who told me that he could do it for Rs. 25,000 through some link in embassy and I would get my passport back in a week. I gave him my passport, the money and in exactly a week, I got the passport back with the Visa.
