The Kandy-Nuwara Eliya road was good one and it was not bumpy like Ketulgala-Nuwara Eliya road. The total distance from Nuwara Eliya to Kandy is about 100km.
The hills are carpeted with uniformly-clipped lush-green tea-plantations. The scenes of carved water-streams and waterfalls were amazing so we stopped at few places before getting to Kandy.
Kandy is one of most beautiful and scenic cities in Sri Lanka. It lies in the midst of hills surrounded by tea-plantations. Temple of the Tooth Relic is located in Kandy which makes it a religious city. Many Buddhist from all over the world come here to visit the Buddha Tooth in this temple. The weather of Kandy stays normal throughout the year with the maximum of about 30 degrees Celsius during day time. 
Our hotel in Kandy was Mahaweli Reach, which was a decent old-England styled five-star hotel. The rooms were spacious and the service was good. We reached there at noon so we had some time for rest and lunch.
After lunch we went to visit wood-carving workshop where artisans where busy. They gave us a demo of this special kind of printing on clothes in which the drawing on cloth is dipped into different coloured waters to get the end product. It was a unique technique of printing and they were experts. After this we were taken to a stone-factory and a demo was waiting for us there as well.
